If you drop the entire weight of authority–the scriptures; the words and histories of the God-men; all the teachings of all the gurus; the encumbrance of all the religions and metaphysical conceptions– just drop ALL of it as if it were a bunch of meaningless chit-chat–and just stop assuming that there is something to find or to gain through any kind of effort, the identity of self and experience, I say, will be obvious.

Simply appreciate the fact that anything is even happening at all. Notice that something is present, that something is undoubtedly being perceived. But don’t worry about what that something is nor how it is being labeled or described. Instead, just revel in the fact of its existence. The fact that it’s even here at all.
